Welcome to F. L. Realty, Specialists in Aguadilla and Isabela, Puerto Rico Real Estate...
Hurricane Maria Aftermath:
January 3, 2017
Happy new year everyone! We are happy to report that we closed out 2017 on a high note, with 3 real estate closings in December alone. We look forward to moving on to a new and better year in 2018! Currently the real estate market is moving along much better than expected. Interest in purchasing properties is high and real estate values seem to be comparable to values before the hurricanes. The rental market is booming, due in part because of the many people who are here from the mainland to help Puerto Rico get back on its feet. Our office remains in its new temporary location in Villa Lisa behind Rosalinda's Mexican restaurant. As stated in our November update, the Aguadilla and Isabela areas are recovering at a faster rate than many other areas of the island. Many neighborhoods in the area have power restored, as do the commercial areas. Those of us who do not have power have adapted with the use of generators, solar power and solar powered devices. People often ask us how they can aid in the recovery of Puerto Rico. The answer is: Come and visit us! Tourism is an essential part of our economy. We are ready for visitors, guest houses are operating, restaurants are back up and running, the grocery store is well stocked, and gas is readily available. And of course, as always, the beaches are gorgeous and the water is clear and beckoning!

Its now been almost a month and a half since Hurricane Maria slammed into Puerto Rico. We are very thankful that our personal homes and properties escaped with only minor damage. Our office was water damaged in the storm, so we have been forced to move to a new temporary office that is located on the street which runs next to Rosalinda's Mexican restaurant.
While the Northwest area was badly affected, recovery is coming along nicely. Our accessability, proximity to the airport, and more forgiving terrain make recovery happen at a quicker rate than the inland areas of Puerto Rico, which are the areas that you are seeing on the news. In addition to federal help, the community has really pulled together and made a huge difference. The vast majority of our roads are in good shape, and most businesses and restaurants are back up and running. We are in business as well, and the real estate market is moving (both sales and rentals). Most of the area has water again, and electricity has been restored in many areas throughout Isabela and Aguadilla. The beaches are still nice and the weather is great, the area is safe and stable. Even in its current state, Puerto Rico is still a fantastic place to visit. By this winter we expect our area to be almost completely recovered. Please don't hesitate to plan your winter vacation or surf trip to Puerto Rico. Puerto Rico is reliant on tourism, and by visiting us you are aiding in our recovery.
The Puerta del Sol market, which comprises the northwest area of Puerto Rico, is one rich in growth and offers a vibrant market. A strong economy fueled by tourism propels our area, in great part due to our beautiful beaches and natural wonders. World class surfing attracts visitors from all over the world during our winter.
During our summer "off season", we are still driven by many corporations such as Hewlett Packard, Honeywell, among many others, who have chosen to make this area their home. Add to that our accesibility to the eastern United States by way of our Rafael Hernandez airport in Aguadilla and you have a recipe for success.
We have a stable real estate market rife with opportunity, whether you are someone who wants to relocate to our area in search of that dream tropical home near all watersports imaginable, or a quiet country retreat only minutes from our pristine beaches. We have it all here. Come see us and you will understand why so many return here year after year.
